Sertoman of the Year:
(chosen by past 5 presidents)

  • Individual should have a high level of achievement in club activities during the year in which they are selected as Sertoman of the Year.
  • Attendance at club meetings.
  • Active in assigned committees.
  • New member recruitment.
  • Community involvement


 

2007 Sertoman of the Year

Tom Romig was recently awarded the Sertoman of the Year Award by the Greater Grand Forks Sertoma Club. Tom has been an active member since April of 2005. In the past 2 years Tom has served on several committees, including membership and 4th of July Family Festival. He is currently 3rd Vice President of the Club.

Tom is employed at Gaffney's as the general manager. He is also active in The Chamber and resent graduate of chamber leadership class of 2006. He is currently working with United Way's 2007 campaign. He resides in Grand Forks with his wife Robin and two children.

To receive this award an individual should have a high level of achievement in club activities, attendance at club meetings, active in assigned committees, new member recruitment and the community.

Keith Moon Award, now the Heritage Award:
(chosen by 5 past winners)

  • Five year membership in club.
  • Attendance at meetings.
  • Committee work.
  • Attendance at functions.
  • Chairing committees or serving as Officer.
  • Attitude towards the club.
  • Enjoyed by peers.


 

2007 Heritage Award

Kelly Hjelle was recently awarded the Heritage Award by the Greater Grand Forks Sertoma Club. Kelly has been a Sertoma member since 1997 and became the first female president of the club in 2001. She has been active on several committees, including 4th of July Family Festival. She is currently serving as Club Secretary and has served as President and Chair of the Board.

Kelly is the Assistant Manager and Commercial Lines Agent with Thompson Insurance. She was just recently named Vice President of Warner and

Company Insurance of Fargo, ND. Kelly is also an active volunteer in

several non-profit organizations.

Kelly resides in East Grand Forks with her husband, Garrett and three children, Taylor, Reed and Jakob.

To receive this award individuals must be a member for at least five years, Have regular attendance at meetings, and serve on committees. This individual must have a positive attitude towards the club and be enjoyed by their peers.

Established originally by the Keith Moon family in Keith's memory. this award also serves to remember all deceased Sertoma members and is in honor of their labor and dedication to the service of fellow mankind. Each year the list of deceased members is read prior to announcing the awardee.

President's Award
(selected by outgoing President as a member deserving recognition for the past years work)

  • A member of GGF Sertoma Club for no less than 2 years.
  • Must have been active on a committee for the past 2 years.
  • Devoted to club goals.
  • Must be a regular attendee at club meetings.
  • Must have demonstrated consistent support of club activities.


 

2007 Presidents Award

Nikki Jackman was recently awarded the Presidents Award by the Greater Grand Forks Sertoma Club. Nikki has been an active member since 2004. She has served on a variety of committees including the social committee, and most recently as co-chair of the 4th of July Family Festival. She is also a current Sertoma Board member.

Nikki is an Account Executive with Midcontinent Communications. Nikki

resides in East Grand Forks with her husband, Todd.

This individual is selected by the outgoing President as a member deserving recognition for the past years work. This individual needs to be a member of the Club for at least two years. This individual must also be devoted to club goals and have regular attendance at club meetings.
